About the project
Alphatent is a Russian manufacturer of folding canopy tents for events and rental. They needed a 3D model of a 3×3 m tent with an opening/closing animation — something competitors don't have, since they all use real video. Later the project grew into a series of tent models in different sizes and configurations for their website catalog.
The project in detail
The work
- modeled the aluminum frame from the physical sample: profiles, telescopic legs, accordion roof, foot pads, locking buttons;
- a series of 3×3 and 6×4 tent models in different configurations — with windows, with the logo, with a pagoda roof;
- opening animation: spread → rise → pause → lower → fold;
- polyester cloth simulation in Marvelous Designer with realistic folds;
- a variant with the logo printed on the tent;
- 18 catalog renders for the website: different sizes and configurations, three angles each.
The result
A full 3D opening animation of the tent — something competitors do not offer — a series of models in different configurations and a set of renders for their catalog. The frame model was approved by the manufacturer on structural accuracy.
